Park Tool SW-9 Double-Ended Spoke Wrench (3.23 mm and 3.45 mm)
The Double-Ended Spoke Wrench (SW-9) combines two of Park Tool’s popular wrenches, the black SW-0 (3.23 mm) and the red SW-2 (3.45 mm). The orientation of the wrench heads (offset at an angle of 15 degrees) allows easier access when adjusting spoke nipples on smaller wheels and when using an anti-rotation spoke holder. The thick jaws of the spoke wrench give excellent purchase across the whole of the nipple’s wrench flats. The SW-9 is ergonomically designed to be held with a pencil grip allowing for excellent leverage with minimal fatigue on the fingers. Because of the length of the SW-9, it is best used for making smaller adjustments (typically at high spoke tensions) of no more than a quarter of a turn. Combining this tool with an anti-rotation spoke holder is a game changer for eliminating wheel truing problems caused by spoke ‘wind-up’.
Notes on use
We include a small section of red glue-lined heat shrink to improve visual identification of each end of the spoke wrench.
To fit 3.30 mm nipples (e.g. Sapim) this spoke wrench can be easily modified with a small file to remove a small amount of material from the wrench jaw so that it can fit slightly larger nipples.
