DT Swiss 14G Squorx Alloy (Pro Head) nipple - Black
There are several features to admire about the DT Swiss Squorx/Torx system:
Used together, the Squorx nipples and wrench have a greater surface area contact than other systems and this reduces potential for damage while tensioning;
The slot-free head of the Squorx nipple increases material strength at the rim/nipple junction;
The longer thread of the Squorx nipple allows for fuller engagement of the spoke’s thread;
And finally, the inclusion of traditional wrench flats on the Squorx nipple’s exterior allow for a regular spoke wrench to be used when the internal rim cavity is not accessible.
Please note that a DT Swiss Torx/Squorx nipple wrench is required to work with the external torx end of the nipple.
Note on spoke lengths
Although there are varying approaches to measuring ERD (Effective Rim Diameter) with different rim manufacturers, we recommend adding one millimetre to your spoke length calculations if using DT Swiss Squorx nipples.
DT Swiss Squorx nipples are also recommended for DT Swiss rims that use the PHR rim washers. These washers measure 0.9 mm adding a further 1.8 mm to any ERD measurements.
