DT Swiss 14G Squorx Brass (Pro Lock) nipple - Black
The Pro Lock feature:
DT Swiss’ Pro Lock feature is designed to prevent the spoke-nipple connection from loosening. This is achieved by DT’s duel compound, adhesive liquid being injected into the threads during the manufacturing process.
The Pro Lock adhesion is reduced slightly with each re-true.
Benefits of the DT Swiss Squorx Design:
High surface area contact between the nipple and wrench. This reduces potential for damage to the nipple while tensioning;
The slot-free head of the Squorx nipple increases material strength at the rim/nipple junction;
The longer thread of the Squorx nipple allows for fuller engagement of the spoke’s thread;
The inclusion of traditional wrench flats on the Squorx nipple’s exterior allow for a regular spoke wrench to be used when the internal rim cavity is not accessible.
Note on spoke lengths
Although there are varying approaches to measuring ERD (Effective Rim Diameter) with different rim manufacturers, we recommend adding one millimetre to your spoke length calculations if using DT Swiss Squorx nipples.
DT Swiss Squorx nipples are also recommended for DT Swiss rims that use the PHR rim washers. These washers measure 0.9 mm adding a further 1.8 mm to any ERD measurements.
