Aluminium nipples are a great way to reduce weight in a wheel. Sapim’s alumimium Polyax is amongst the best in the industry. Made using high-grade 7075 T6 Aluminium, and with wrench flats forged for greater durability and resistance to brittle cracking.
The ball shaped head of Sapim’s Polyax nipples are unique and allow the nipple to pivot and facilitate spoke alignment, while also maintaining even contact on the inside of the rim holes. Even contact at the rim interface reduces the chance of stress risers, which can propagate cracks around the rim holes.
