Sapim MG Nipple Washers – 14G
Sapim’s MG Nipple Washers are designed to increase the strength of the rim and reduce friction between the nipple and the rim. They are also designed to work well with Sapim’s Polyax nipples. The MG nipples are required in wheel builds by some rim manufacturers, such as Newmen Components. They achieve similar results to DT Swiss’ PHR washers, however they are designed for rims which have a flat internal spoke bed.
Notes on use
Sapim’s MG Nipple Washers are not compatible with all rim profiles. Please make sure that the following requirements are met before choosing this product.
The rim bed should have a flat internal surface greater than 7.5 mm wide. Note that V-shaped rims or heavily concave rim profiles will prevent the washer from sitting flat against the rim holes.
External rim holes need to be greater than 7.5 mm in diameter, to allow for insertion.
Please also note that it is necessary to add 4 mm to the ERD.
