Pillar’s PSR spokes are made with high quality T302⁺ stainless steel and are a great choice for light-weight performance application with a round spoke (especially road, gravel and XC mountain bikes). A feature of the PSR TB 2015 spoke is that they use a unique forging process to increase the diameter of the spoke elbow to 2.2 mm. This increase in cross-sectional area improves strength at the elbow and allows for a tighter fit at the hub flange.

Technically speaking the PSR TB 2015s are a triple butted spoke, however as the 2.2 mm increase in cross section is only at the spoke head and elbow, we like to call these a double butted. The butting of the central part of the spoke to 1.5 mm reduces weight and increases elasticity within the spoke, for the benefit of improved fatigue life.

These Pillar PSR TB 2015 spokes are cut to order, within the range of 283-299 mm.

Note on use:

Because the PSR TB 2015s are so thin in the mid-section (1.5 mm), they are more susceptible to torsional twisting, causing difficulties with wheel truing and potentially fatiguing the spokes. We highly recommend working with a spoke holding tool (e.g. the Unior Spoke Holding Pliers) and a head-driven nipple when using these spokes to make wheel building easier.
